Audrey stepped onto the big stage at the Sing It Out Loud Competition — and walked away with first place in her section and a plaque to prove it. The staff were so taken with her full rock look that she picked up a nickname for the day: “Rock Chick”.
What we love most is how Audrey described the experience afterwards, in her own words:
When I was on stage, other than the light being bright enough to flashback someone, it was much less intimidating than I thought it would be. I was still nervous, everyone was, I just got over it fairly quickly once the music started. Extremely fun to sing powerfully with colourful posters and floors — it almost felt like a real concert for a minute.
Phenomenal experience, definitely doing another comp sometime!
That’s exactly what we hope every student takes away from performing: nerves are normal, and the moment the music starts, the preparation takes over.
